The Wyoming Operating Engineers Apprenticeship and Training Program offers an optional entry-level training course for drivers interested in obtaining their Class A/B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
This course will equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain a Class A/B CDL and meets the current FMCSA ELDT regulations.
The total course length is 4 weeks. Students must obtain a Wyoming commercial learners permit to begin training. Training will be a mixture of online/classroom and behind-the-wheel training to develop the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a commercial vehicle and pass the Wyoming CDL Driving Exam.
Must have a current and valid Wyoming Driver’s License
Be at least 18 years-old for intrastate; 21 years-old interstate
Be able to successfully pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical and obtain a valid medical examiner's certificate (MEC)
Must have a negative drug test.
